LABEL FIRST

Allergy-aware packing

A dietary badge is a research shortcut, never a substitute for the ingredient label.

Read the exact flavor every time

The FDA advises people with food allergies to read labels and avoid their allergens. Ingredients and allergen statements can change. A brand can offer both suitable and unsuitable recipes, so neither the brand name nor our filter determines whether a particular snack is safe for you.

Dietary terms answer different questions

Vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free are not interchangeable. A vegan food may contain nuts or wheat; a gluten-free bar may contain eggs. Advisory statements such as “may contain” also matter. Contact the manufacturer when the label does not answer your question.

Prevent mix-ups when packing

Keep original wrappers or a clear record of ingredient labels. Separate foods and utensils where cross-contact is a concern, and avoid communal snack bags. Follow your established allergy care plan and bring prescribed emergency medication; this page does not replace medical guidance.
